Elon Musk’s X on Friday (October 4) received a setback in a legal bid to avoid a A$610,500 ($418,000) fine levelled by Australia’s online watchdog. The Federal Court of Australia said that the social media company failed to cooperate with a regulator’s request for information about anti-child-abuse practices.
“X Corp has failed on all its claims,” a judge said in a decision, which has been welcomed by the eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant — a former Twitter employee.
