New TRAI rule on spam messages comes into effect: What it means for Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea users

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) new regulations to combat spam and fraudulent messages have come into effect. Companies sending commercial texts must now register their content with telecom providers, including website links, app links, and file attachments before they are disseminated to customers.
The information is then verified through a secure system and only messages with verified content are delivered, while unverified messages are blocked.
