Following an agreement between India and the US, the two nations will work to set up a semiconductor fabrication plant that will make infrared, gallium nitride and silicon-carbide semiconductors. Support from the India Semiconductor Mission as well as a “strategic technology partnership between Bharat Semi, 3rdiTech, and the US Space Force,” will facilitate the setting up of the facility.
India is upping the stakes in its semiconductor initiative as it looks at bringing home the entire value chain from materials to wafers.
