Telecom Regulatory Authority of India set to expedite pricing process for satellite spectrum

Telecom regulator Trai is set to expedite the pricing process for satellite spectrum before turning its attention to regulating over-the-top (OTT) apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram and Google Meet.

Trai chairman R.C. Lahoti announced on Wednesday that a consultation paper on satellite spectrum pricing would be released soon. He emphasised that the regulation of OTT apps is a separate matter, and the regulator must prioritise spectrum pricing.
