iPhone 16 teardown reveals similarities with iPhone 15, highlights reparable battery and enhanced repairability features
iPhone 16 annual teardown has unveiled several major similarities with its predecessor, the iPhone 15, while also showcasing significant improvements in repairability. Conducted by iFixit co-founder Kyle Wiens, the teardown reveals that the internal layout remains largely consistent between the two models, with shared components and similar structural designs. However, the iPhone 16 stands out with its innovative battery that utilises a special adhesive, allowing for easy removal using an electric current. This makes it easier to take off the back of the iPhone, thus, simplifying battery replacement process compared to previous models and reflecting Apple’s commitment to making its devices more user-friendly.
