Vodafone Idea inks $3.6 billion gear deal with Nokia, Ericsson and Samsung

New Delhi: Vodafone Idea (Vi) has signed deals worth $3.6 billion (₹30,000 crore) with Finland’s Nokia, Sweden’s Ericsson and Samsung of South Korea to source telecom equipment over three years for 4G network expansion and 5G rollouts, taking a significant step to improve competitiveness in the market against stronger rivals Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel and stem user losses.
