2024 is a high stakes year, where more than 60 countries and over 4 billion people will be selecting their next leader. Generative AI is playing a significant role in the electoral process. According to a report by Canadian think tank Centre for the Study of Democratic Institutions, since genAI has reduced the cost of producing content, it poses a huge risk to democracy by propagating content that is deceptive and harasses political candidates.
