Apple may discontinue this audio product after 14 years
Apple introduced the EarPods with the iPhone 5 in 2012. The company reportedly plans to discontinue its wired earbuds after 14 years. According to a report by MacRumors, major US retailer Target has marked all three variants of EarPods (Lightning, 3.5mm, and USB-C) as “Non-Carry Forward”. This indicates that the company may discontinue the wired earbuds soon. This announcement comes ahead of Apple’s “It’s Glowtime” event which is set to start later today at 10.30 pm. At this event, the company is expected to launch four new iPhones, Apple Watch models and AirPods. This suggests that Apple may discontinue the older EarPods soon after the event.
