WhatsApp users in this region will be able to send messages to and call people on other apps; here’s how it will work
Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp and Messenger, has detailed its approach to integrating third-party messaging services for users in the European Union, as required by the Digital Markets Act (DMA). The company announced that it will introduce new features allowing WhatsApp and Messenger users in the EU to connect with people using third-party messaging apps. This interoperability, referred to as “third-party chats,” aims to comply with DMA regulations while maintaining privacy and security standards.
