Twenty-eight years ago, Dipesh Shah was the first employee that Samsung hired for its R&D division in India. After being at the helm for nearly three decades, Dipesh, the managing director of Samsung Research Institute in Bengaluru (SRI-B), says the centre is now not just Samsung’s largest software R&D centre outside of South Korea, but is also the go-to place for engineering expertise in multiple areas. “Some of our people are absolutely world-class in their domains because they’ve been working in their fields for a very long time.”
