HMD unveils Fusion, a modular phone that lets you unlock new functionalities with ‘Smart Outfits’

At the Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin (IFA), HMD unveiled Fusion, a new modular phone that lets you add new functionalities to the device using interchangeable covers called “Smart Outfits”.

The back of the phone has a six-pin connector that can be used to add or remove cases. These cases add to the device functionality, similar to how Motorola did years ago with Moto Mods for the Moto Z lineup. HMD says these outfits can change the hardware and software features of the phone and even help enhance the performance of the device.
