Intel’s ‘most advanced manufacturing process’ may have run into trouble

Intel’s plans regarding its contract chip manufacturing business have reportedly hit a snag. Broadcom, a major chipmaker, conducted tests on Intel’s most advanced 18A manufacturing process, but found it unsuitable for high-volume production, a report has said.
According to news agency Reuters, the tests conducted by Broadcom engineers and executives – which involved sending silicon wafers or discs on which chips are printed – suggest that they are not yet viable to move to high-volume production.
