Chinese hackers hit internet companies in US and India: Why it is ‘dangerous’

A Chinese hacking group has exploited a zero-day vulnerability to expose several internet service providers in multiple countries, security researchers have said, adding that they have identified five victims of the cyberattack – four in the US and one from India but did not name them.
Researchers at Lumen Technologies say that they discovered a vulnerability in Versa Director, a software platform used by the customers of Versa Networks.
