No DoT plan to regulate WhatsApp, similar communication OTTs

New Delhi: The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) does not intend to regulate over-the-top (OTT) communication players such as WhatsApp and Telegram, with officials clarifying to ET that the definition of telecommunication under the new Act does not apply to such apps.
