Meta cancels its Apple Vision Pro competitor: Here’s why

Meta has been working on a premium Mixed Reality headset that would compete against the likes of Apple Vision Pro. The headset was to launch sometime in 2027 and was to ship a high resolution micro OLED screen, which is what Apple uses for its first generation headset.

The news about Meta’s plan to cancel its premium headset comes from a recent report by The Information. According to the publication citing two Meta employees, the company recently held a product review meeting during which employees were told to stop working on the product.
