272 Pune residents lost a staggering Rs 125 cr to share trading frauds since January

In what could be described as digital heists of staggering scales, as many as 272 people from Pune have seen their life savings and deposits totalling over Rs 125 crore evaporate in online share trading frauds since January this year. Investigators have observed a worrying trend — many of these victims, in their desire for higher returns, had pulled out their money from legitimate stock trading platforms and put it in phoney apps, lured by catchy and deceptive social media ads.
