UK closes Apple, Google app store probe: Why the tech companies’ ‘problems’ are not over

Britain’s competition watchdog has announced that it has closed the investigations into Apple and Google’s respective app stores. The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) investigated both Google and Apple’s practices regarding app distribution in the UK. It focused on the companies’ requirements that app developers use their respective billing systems for in-app purchases on Android and iOS devices.
