Entry-level engineer salaries range from Rs 4-12 lakh, not Rs 2.52 lakh, says Cognizant

After facing social media backlash over the Rs 2.52 lakh annual salary offer for freshers, IT firm, Cognizant on Sunday said that it offers Rs 4-12 lakh salary to fresh engineering graduates, and the salary being quoted on social media is for non-engineering undergraduate degree holders.

The company also addressed the criticism on social media regarding annual salary hikes, with some alleging that the increments were as low as 1%. Cognizant said that the figure represents the lower band of a 1-5% range of increments based on individual performance.
