NEW DELHI: Mobile handset maker Vivo said that the company could launch a new smartphone in the Indian market that can latch on space broadband frequencies, following necessary regulatory approvals.
“The technology (satellite-based communications) is ready, and it depends on the local market (India) needs and technicalities. It will take some time because the service system here doesn’t support that and also there are regulatory issues,” Rakesh Tamrakar, Standards Expert at Vivo Communication Research Institute told ETTelecom.
