EU’s warning shot at Musk-Trump chat backfires: Top official criticised for ‘meddling in US politics’
The feud between the European Union and Elon Musk continued to escalate after a top EU official warned the tech billionaire against using his social media platform X to amplify “potentially harmful content”.
EU commissioner Thierry Brenton’s open letter addressed to Musk drew attention as it came just hours ahead of the latter’s interview with US presidential candidate Donald Trump that was live-streamed on X on Monday, August 12. “In this context, I am compelled to remind you of the due diligence obligations set out in the Digital Services Act (DSA)…” Brenton said in the letter.
