Google starts shipping locally-made Pixel smartphones from its production lines

New Delhi: Google has started shipping locally made Pixel smartphones from its production lines, the company said Monday.
“Excited to announce that the first of our Made in India Google Pixel8 devices have started rolling off the production lines,” Google India announced in a social media post. The company had announced plans to make Pixel phones locally in October 2023 at its Google For India event.

According to industry executives, the phones are being made by a wholly-owned subsidiary of Taiwanese contract manufacturer Foxconn, called Wow Tech.
