Bharti Global to buy out Altice UK’s 24.5% stake in BT Group
NEW DELHI: Bharti Global, the international investment arm of Bharti Enterprises, has entered into an agreement to acquire a 24.5% stake in BT Group Plc from billionaire Patrick Drahi’s Altice UK.
Altice UK first acquired a 12% stake in BT in 2021, and later increased it to 24.5%.
“Bharti Global, the international investment arm of Bharti Enterprises (Bharti), a leading Indian business group with world-class companies in telecoms, digital infrastructure and space communications, has reached an agreement to acquire an interest in c.24.5% of the issued share capital of BT Group plc from Altice UK,” Bharti said in a statement on Monday.
