Airbnb sees a surge in travel interest for Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan weekend

As India approaches the long weekend encompassing Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan, Airbnb has reported a substantial increase in travel-related searches. Indian travellers are showing a marked enthusiasm for both domestic and international trips, eager to maximize the extended break.

Airbnb’s latest data reveals an impressive 340 percent year-on-year (Y-o-Y) surge in domestic searches for stays during this period. This indicates a growing trend among Indian travellers to explore local destinations during short breaks. Goa, Lonavala, Puducherry, Mumbai, Bengaluru, New Delhi, and Udaipur have emerged as the top-searched domestic locations.
