Satcom to complement terrestrial communications, bridge digital divide: TRAI Chairman
NEW DELHI: Satellite communications (satcom) will complement terrestrial networks communications and enable coverage in underserved, as well as, unserved areas, said a senior official of India’s telecom regulator on Wednesday.
“India is steadfast in its commitment to bridge the digital divide. Satellite communications provide ubiquitous coverage, irrespective of their location and terrain,” said Anil Kumar Lahoti, Chairman of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), according to a statement by the Broadband India Forum (BIF).
