Notice to Infosys after Narayana Murthy held up mirror to Modi govt: Congress

The Maharashtra Congress on Tuesday alleged that Infosy, the IT giant, was served a tax evasion notice of Rs 32,400 crore by the Directorate General of Goods and Services Tax Intelligence at the behest of the Modi Government.

”The notice was served to Infosys because its co-founder Narayana Murthy had expressed doubts about India’s ability to compete with China’s manufacturing prowess. He had raised the doubts while speaking at ELCIA Tech Summit 2024. Murthy has said that China has six times the GDP of India and it was audacious to believe that India will be a manufacturing hub,” Congress spokesperson Gopal Tiwari said at a press conference on Tuesday.
