Government has a warning for SBI customers on this ‘alert message’ from the bank

Fact Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB), under I&B ministry, has alerted SBI customers about fraudulent messages being circulated. In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, PIB stated that scammers are sending APKs and messages via SMS and WhatsApp, claiming to help redeem SBI reward points. PIB clarified that SBI never sends links or unsolicited APKs through SMS or WhatsApp and advised the bank customers to not to click on such links or download unknown files.
