3.03 lakh 5G base stations fiberised till June-end: MoS Communications

NEW DELHI: Of the 4.48 lakh 5G base stations deployed in India, about 3.03 lakh have been fiberised as of June 30, 2024, according to data furnished by Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development on Thursday.

To facilitate the proliferation of 5G services, he stated in Rajya Sabha that the government has undertaken measures such as the assignment of sufficient spectrum for mobile services through auctions, the introduction of reforms in the telecom sector, notification of Right of Way (RoW) rules, and the launch of the PM Gati Shakti Sanchar Portal.
