Three lose Rs 51L to online fraudsters

Chandigarh: A city resident reported that an unidentified person cheated her of Rs 37 lakh online under the pretext of investment and trading. A case under Sections 419, 420 and 120-B of the IPC has been registered. Kuldeep Singh of Audit Colony, Sector 41-B, reported that a person cheated him out of Rs 8.75 lakh regarding online investment on December 19 last year. A case under Sections 419, 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of the IPC has been registered. Nepal national Mukti Pandit alleged that Harvinder Singh of Harvie Overseas, Sec 40-C duped him of Rs 5.8 lakh on the pretext of providing Azerbaijan visa. A case under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of the IPC and 24 of the Immigration Act has been registered.
