‘UK Man’ blackmails woman with nude video; case registered

A 27-year-old employee of a major trading company has lodged a complaint with the police claiming that a person posing as a citizen of the United Kingdom whom she befriended on Instagram, lured her to remove clothes over a video call which he recorded without her consent and subsequently began blackmailing her for money.

The police said that the woman realised that she had fallen prey to cyber frauds after the accused claimed that he was sending gifts for her from the UK and when she refused, the accused started demanding money by threatening to share her nude video with her relatives and friends.
