WhatsApp working on new voice note transcribe feature: Here’s what it does

WhatsApp, the popular Meta-owned messaging platform with billions of users worldwide is testing a new feature that will automatically transcribe voice notes. Similar to Google Messages, the new functionality will allow users to avoid the hassle of going through a voice note by offering them a text version of the note.

First discovered by WABetaInfo, it looks like WhatsApp has rolled out the new voice note transcription feature to a handful of users in certain countries for those part of the app’s beta program. The report suggests it is appearing for those on WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.15.5, which is currently available for download from the Google Play Store.
