BSNL’s CMD denied extension, DoT’s Robert Ravi to take charge

The government has named senior telecom department official Robert Jerard Ravi as chairman and managing director (CMD) of Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL), along with Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (MTNL) and Bharat Broadband Network (BBNL) for a period of six months.

According to an order issued by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, the government has decided to not extend the tenure of Pravin Kumar Purwar, current CMD of BSNL beyond July 14.
