How and where Microsoft may have gone wrong in emails ‘warning’ customers of one of the biggest hacking attacks on its system

Microsoft, in March, confirmed a security breach by the hacking group Midnight Blizzard. The company said that hackers infiltrated Microsoft systems aiming to steal customer data and has since been sending emails warning customers affected by the hacking. However, a security researcher has raised concerns about the process, saying that the notification emails resemble spam or even phishing attempts.
