X user questions company’s policy on DMs, Elon Musk responds

X (formerly) rolled out encryption for direct messages (DMs) last year, however, for this to be implemented both the sender and recipient must be verified. An X user recently highlighted a change in company policy, raising privacy concerns. This update essentially contradicts X’s previous policy of guaranteeing end-to-end encryption for all user content.
