Meta, the company behind WhatsApp, bans accounts for engaging in activities that violate its Terms of Service. If a user is caught or is complained of promoting terrorism, sharing nudity or exploitative content, spamming, scamming, or jeopardising user safety, WhatsApp can ban their accounts.
In its latest monthly report, which is published in accordance with India’s IT law, WhatsApp details that it banned 66 lakh accounts in India in May.
