NEW DELHI: GSMA has asked the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to review its 2022 decision, and allow telecom carriers to expand mobile networks at India’s airports to boost connectivity for businesses and consumers.
In a letter to telecom secretary Neeraj Mittal, dated June 25, 2024, GSMA’s APAC public policy head Jeanette Whyte said, “GSMA would like to request the DoT to review its order dated November 29, 2022, and take necessary steps to permit 5G deployments in 3.5 GHz band near/around the airports without any limitations.”
