Figma disables its AI design tool after accusations of copying Apple’s Weather app

Figma, the popular design software company, has temporarily disabled its new AI-powered “Make Designs” feature days after its launch, after users discovered it was generating designs strikingly similar to Apple’s Weather app.
Andy Allen, CEO of Not Boring Software, first brought attention to the issue on social media. “Just a heads up to any designers using the new Make Designs feature that you may want to thoroughly check existing apps or modify the results heavily so that you don’t unknowingly land yoursef in legal trouble,” Allen warned.
