Why users in some countries are not able to update their Netflix subscription

Netflix, in January, announced its plans to retire its cheapest ad-free plans in countries where it’s available. A new report has said that the company has started the process to phase out its “Basic” plan, notifying users about the date on which their current subscription is expiring.
According to a report by The Verge, several existing subscribers in Canada and the UK have received notifications urging them to choose a new plan by July 13.
