YouTube Premium gets jump ahead button, PiP, and Smart Downloads comes to Shorts

YouTube is rolling out a trio of upgrades, including a “Jump ahead” button, Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode for Shorts, and experimental smart downloads for Shorts content.
The new “Jump ahead” button comes to the rescue. Double-tap anywhere on the video (currently available for Android users in the US, with iOS rollout coming soon), and YouTube will analyze viewership data and AI insights to suggest a point in the video where viewers typically jump ahead.
