Meta may block news from Facebook in this country: “…all options are on the table

Facebook owner Meta may block news content from its platform in Australia if the government enforces a law requiring the company to pay licensing fees to media outlets for linking to their content, a company representative told a parliamentary hearing.
When asked if the company would block Australians from sharing news to avoid fees, Meta’s regional policy director, Mia Garlick said “all options are on the table.”
