Government has announced an important change in MNP policy starting July 1, here’s the what and why of the change

The telecom industry regulator – Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) – has announced an important amendment to the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) regulations. As a part of the new Mobile Number Portability rule, TRAI has introduced a seven-day waiting period for the issuance of the Unique Porting Code. The government body aims to address the fraudulent SIM Swap activities which is a new MNP rule change.
