Apple is improving third-party iPhone repairs, here’s how

Apple has been long reluctant to the idea of third-party repairs, but recently it has been opening up the iPhone and its other devices to third-party repair and even self-repair. Now, it is making some changes that’ll let third-party screens and batteries work better on iPhones. In a new whitepaper titled “Longevity, by Design” released on June 26, the iPhone maker outlined plans to extend software features to non-Apple components.
