Nokia to acquire optical network gear maker Infinera in $2.3 bn deal

NEW DELHI: Nokia is acquiring Infinera, a maker of open optical networking solutions and optical semiconductors, as the Finnish mobile network vendor looks to scale up its optical business, especially in the North American market.

Under the agreement, Nokia will acquire Infinera in a transaction valuing the company at $6.65 per share – or an enterprise value of $ 2.3 billion.
