Vodafone Idea says engaged with Samsung for 4G, 5G vRAN, deploys gear in three circles

NEW DELHI: India’s third-largest telecom operator Vodafone Idea has been in active discussion with South Korea’s Samsung for new technologies, such as the virtualised Radio Access Network (vRAN) solution for its 4G and 5G deployments.

To this extent, Vodafone Idea Wednesday said that for expanding its 4G footprint and to launch fifth-generation (5G) services, the two companies have been engaged for the last 12-18 months on network trials in Chennai.
