Vodafone Idea acquires Rs 3,510 crore worth of airwaves in 11 circles

Mumbai: Vodafone Idea Ltd (Vi), India’s third largest telecom company, spent Rs 3,510 crore to acquire 30 MHz of spectrum in 11 circles to strengthen its 4G portfolio as well as launch 5G services, making it the second largest spender after Bharti Airtel for airwaves in a sale that ended Wednesday.
“This acquisition will enable us to effectively use dedicated sub-GHz spectrum towards advanced technologies to enhance the experience we offer to our customers,” chief executive Akshaya Moondra said in a news release.
