Online investment scam: Fake Invesco, Goldman Sachs agents dupe Kerala man Rs 7.5 crore

A 33-year-old man from Kerala has lost Rs 7.55 crore to an online investment scam involving fraudsters who posed as representatives of reputed financial firms Invesco Capital and Goldman Sachs. The scam began when the victim was approached by unidentified individuals promising high returns on investments.

Lured by the promise of significant financial gains, the victim began investing smaller amounts. The scammers provided him with a fake account statement showing that his internal equity account had reached Rs 39,72,85,929, purportedly as a return on his investments. Encouraged by this false success, the scammers urged him to invest more money.
