Google says it is working to “improve speed and ability” of this iPhone-like feature
Google launched its upgraded Find My Device network – Android’s answer to iPhones’ Find My network – in April. However, several reports suggest that the feature is plagued with reliability issues. The search giant has now acknowledged the problem and said that it is actively working on a solution.
According to a statement shared by Google with Mishaal Rahman, who writes for various publications, Google is working to make the Android Find My Device network more reliable at locating lost items.
As per the company, the Find My Device Network will get stronger as more devices join. To maximise the chance of finding your lost item anywhere, Google recommends Bluetooth tracker owners switch their setting to “with network in all areas.” By default, the setting is set to search for lost tags only in high-traffic areas.
