Google is shutting down this PDF scanner app in September, here’s what it means for users

Another one bites the dust. Google has announced that it will discontinue its Stack PDF Scanner app on September 23, 2024. The company is urging users to switch to Google Drive’s built-in document scanning features instead.
Stack, developed by Google’s Area 120 incubator team, allowed users to scan and organise documents and receipts on their mobile devices.The app offered convenient features like automatic edge detection, document capture, and smart categorization.
Google has already removed Stack from the Play Store. Users who still have the app installed can export their scanned documents to Google Drive before the September shutdown date.
