How India may be planning to bring this EU rule for your smartphone and laptop chargers

The government may enforce a standard charger rule for phones and tablets by June 2025, and for laptops too from 2026 so that a single charger and cable can be used to power these multiple devices, a report has said.
Citing three people aware of the matter, a report by Mint says that the rule will not apply to basic phones and wearables for now. The IT ministry is expected to instruct all device makers to use uniform charging ports in the coming weeks.
