India to spend $ 6 billion on AI by 2027, IDC reports

International Data Corporation (IDC) forecasts that Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (GenAI) adoption in India will reshape the country’s technological landscape, with expenditures expected to hit $6 billion by 2027, growing at a compound annual rate of 33.7% from 2022 to 2027.

Globally, IDC anticipates AI spending to surpass $512 billion by 2027, more than doubling its size from 2024.

These insights were shared with over 160 senior executives from India’s top technology vendors and IT service providers at the IDC Directions India conference on June 12, 2024.
