45 US states sue Facebook-parent Meta over failing to protect children on its platforms

Mark Zuckerberg’s company Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, is facing lawsuits from 45 states and Washington D.C. for not doing enough to keep children safe online. The New York Times reports that these lawsuits claim Meta misled the public about the risks to young users.
